Poker

Poker is a card game that has many variations. The lowest possible hand is 7-5-4-3-2 in any suit, although in some games the ace is considered the lowest card. Two pairs of aces are also the lowest hand. Several variations of Poker are available, and all will be discussed later in this chapter. For players with more than five players, two separate games can be organized. Listed below are some of the most popular varieties of Poker.

When playing poker, there are a number of players (usually six to eight). When betting, all players place chips into a central pot known as the pot. This pot contains the winnings of each round of the game. The winner of the pot is the player with the highest poker hand. However, the winner of the pot is not always the highest hand. In order to win a pot, a player must bet more than the amount of chips placed into the pot by other players.

Players almost always use poker chips to play poker. Games with seven or more players should provide chips. There are three types of poker chips. The lowest value is called the “white” chip. The highest-ranking chip is the “red” chip, which is worth five whites. Each player’s hand will be determined by the amount of chips that a player has “blind” – usually a dealer chip. The dealer chip is the player who starts the game with the highest hand.
