In hockey, a slot is the area of the ice between the faceoff circles that provides the best chance of scoring without deflection. In addition, the slot provides a straight-on view of the net, making wrist shots possible. As a result, defenders tend to lay big hits on smaller wingers in the slot. And since slots provide the best scoring chances, they’re highly coveted by teams. But how do you make the most of your slot?

There are a variety of ways to use the term “slot.” A slat is a narrow depression. A slot can be a narrow, horizontal notch. A notch can be used as a catch-all box. A slot is also useful for placing items. An aperture in a box is also referred to as a “slat.”

Another way to map a slot is to create a rule for each slot. One rule for a slot is to map a value to a corresponding Slot Type.
