Poker is a game of chance where players bet into a pot. The player with the best hand wins the pot. If a draw occurs, the amount of the pot is divided equally among all the players.

In poker, a poker hand consists of five cards. They are ranked from Ace to Ace. A flush is a hand with all cards of the same suit. Lowball is a hand with two or fewer cards of the same suit. A straight is a hand starting with the highest card.

In poker, each player has a chance to show his hand, which he does in clockwise order. Players can discard up to three cards before showing theirs.

Before playing, each player makes a small bet called an ante. The amount of ante varies by the game.

After the ante, players are dealt five cards. This may be done face up or face down. When each card is revealed, the remaining players in turn place bets into the pot.

If the player is playing a lowball hand, his hand must be low enough to beat the other players. A flush is not counted against a lowball hand.

In poker, the high card breaks ties. For example, if a pair of kings is tied for the highest, the high card is used to determine the winner. If two four-of-a-kinds have the same rank, the higher-ranking four-of-a-kind wins.

Some poker games allow a wild card. This can be an ace or deuce. Wild cards can be used to supplement any other card.
